Prom help!

Hey guys,
I need a new prom chip, but I don't know the number! I've got a 1991 classic with the 305. I pulled the ecm and the chip but the only numbers on the chip are DELC AYAL AYAL 3703 in four little rows on the sticker. Is there a part number for the stock chip?
There's some numbers on the ecm too:
SERV. NO. 16136965 AMXR
86AMXR K100710241
16120581 AMXR
A quick trip to acdelco.com gave me two part numbers: 160608836 and 16165380. The first one I usually see listed as supporting the 5.7l engine.
Please help me! I need to fix this! Thanks! -Ben

Are you sure it is the prom making the ticking? I just found an axhaust leak on mine between the manifold and the Y-pipe. It only ticks when I have it under load. 5$ fix. Oh yeah...and a torch for the manifold bolts, otherwise they'll snap.

Good to hear from you again!
You mean the ticking from my other post? I thought it's comming from under the hood somewhere arround the distributor. It might be below that but possibly from that general area. It comes and goes and isn't that loud. I'm starting to wonder if I have an exahust leak too. Every time when I stop after it's been running for a while when I get out I can smell an exhaust/oil smell. Once or twice I'd swear I even saw some wisps of smoke come from under the car or the back or the engine. What was wrong on your car with the leak and what needed to be done to fix it?
Thanks! -ben

On either side of the engine, there is an exhaust manifold. Your exhaust pipe connects to these manifolds with a 'Y' pipe. Where the the Y-pipe and exhaust manifolds meet, there are gaskets. (which are prone to leaking) Because of engine heat, vibration and twist, and the exhaust system being hung quite solidly to the undercarriage, These gaskets tend to break down over time. They develop small cracks that let exhaust gases escape, and it will cause a ticking sound under load.
The way to fix it is to go underneath the car, remove the Y-pipe, and change the gaskets, or in some cases, eliminate the gaskets alltogether. Be sure to use a torch when removing the nuts from the manifold, because the studs are likely to break when removing the nuts. New gaskets will run about $5. It's a cheap repair for an annoying problem.
I suggested checking those because of the ticking under load that you mentioned in another post. I really don't think that you need a new prom chip. If the car runs fine, it doesn't make sense to me to change an expensive part like that, when the problem could be as simple as a gasket. It could even just be spark knock from running shitty gas.
That said, explore other options before buying a new chip, and see if you can save yourself some aggravation.
Just my two cents...

Yeah Mine are old but aren't leaking yet. I'm going to replace them soon.
I replaced the ecm which was a toast, using the old prom with a new (old) ecm fixed all my computer problems. 90% of the spark knock is gone and lots more power. Switching to all premium gas took care of the last little bit of knock. It runs like a dream now!
So here's the next project: Better/cooler air cleaner. This one looks lousey and constricts air flow, so I've been looking for some other options. I found on edelbrocks website the top of a chrome air cleaner that it claims is for this model. (Part number 1213) I have to think that this is some kind of mistake since I can't find the bottom and the unit ain't round. So I guess my question is can I bolt pretty much whatever tbi certified air fliter housing onto it or what?
