can somebody please help me on how to check the gear oil of my camry 2000 4 cylinder. ANd if something is to be done, is it easy to replace the oil myself. :banghead: :banghead:

You shouldn't have to worry about that unless you have a leak somewhere.

Gear oil? Are you referring to the differential fluid? If you're talking about the differential, it's not gear oil, it's Dextron III. It's rather easy to change, and they say that you should change the fluid as often as you change the transaxle fluid. If you'd like, I can send you further instructions.

I just had the gear oil (that's what they called it) changed at a Texaco lube place for $20. It looked easy, I just didn't have time to do it myself.
