dangerous

Sometimes the car will not start. The horn will beep as if the security button on the wiper control has not been depressed. This has happened 2 previous times.
I tried waiting 10 minutes as noted in the manual, but nothing. I reset the door locks, opened it withj the keyless button, etc. etc. etc.
Last time this happened, wereturned after a few hours and it started - no problems. Tonight, we returned after1 hr or so and nothing.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks !

I tried the disconnect on the battery - but no luck. I also opened the car, inserted the key and waited 3 minutes before turning the key.
The security light flashes and upon inserting the key - the security light turns off. It looks as though all is good, but still the horn beeps when you try to start . I was wondering if the button on the end of the wiper/turn signal (that is depressed to avoid the alarm) is bad.
Any more thoughts are appreciated.

I left the key in the on position for 40 minutes - no progress. I had it towed to the shop, but a friend of mine suggested that maybe the cruise control switch was in the off position and therfore caused the button to 'not work'. I will advise the shop and see what shakes out.

sounds exactly like what happened to me when my alarm "brain" went out. i removed and bypassed the unit and it started fine. power locks continued to work with alarm removed. get techs to bypass brain to test.

All is done - I had it towed to the shop.
The end of teh story is - there are 3 relays in this alarm system. One for the horn (which worked), One of teh other 2 was sticking - when they removbed it and whacked it with a screwdriver, it worked. They replaced the 2 relays and all is fine. They also showed me the valet switch that I did not know was there. I do however have to mount the switch a little better a- as it just dangles from beneath the dash.
If I had known about the valet switch, I could have switch it to bypass. It cost me $159.00 including towing. He charged me .8 hours, 2 relays and towing. This guy is great Thanks for the input
