i have a 95 rs eclipse 2.0 DOHC, heres the problem. with first start up the engine will rev at about 4-5 grand and after about 10 seconds it goes down to idle and searches for idle between 1 and 2 thousand RPM. i replaced the idle speed control actuator, TPS, MAP, and air intake temp sensor. i also took the ECU out and installed it in my buddys eclipse and his ran fine. i noticed that if i took out the MAP sensor wire harness plug and left it in only part of the way that it woud idle alot better so i replaced it but had the same problem. any help would be great.

That is wierd. I would say MAP but you already replaced that.
All I could tell you is check the EGR valve. (Do you have a CEL, sometimes you won't)
Clean the EGR or block it off. I have heard of a messed up EGR causeing idle problems so it is possible

ok im gonna give that a try and my dad also told me to check for an open wire between the sensors and the ECU. also, i work for ford trucks but im in the diesel field so theres alot of stuff on cars that im not up to date with like the CEL. so i might very well have one and just dont know. please fill me in on what that is. thanx again

oh, also the map sensor that i replaced mine with was off a junk car so it might be bad also. if u know the resistance check specs. for the sensor it would be a big help.

Do you have a cel?
Yes check the wires too, they can get brittle over time and crack.
I may have the resistance specs at home in my factory manual i will post it when i get home.

yes the cel is on....i coded out a 12 and 55. i think the 12 was "air flow". which i dont think is a sensor, but i dont kno and then i changed the MAP sensor and it coded out for like 7 things and thats when i thought the ECU was messed up but then i put it in my buddy car and it ran fine. yea those specs. would help alot. i was thinking it was the MAP sensor b/c like i said it would idle better when i pulled the wire harness like half way out of the sensor but then i also thought that if was sucking air somewhere after the throttle body that it would mess up the MAP sensor. so ill do some more checking and after i check the MAP sensor i should about have it narrowed down. thanx

Ok...Here goes nothing. I found this and don't know if it will help or not. It seems that the 55 is the code to let you know that it is the end of the codes. As stated CEL *55 = "End of error messages". And it seems that *12 is "direct power input to the PCM has been disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles" So it looks like the only code that means anything is the *12. But as for the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) I have no idea? Might want to ask someone else about that part. Hope that helps.

The 12 code is probally from when he took it out and switched it with his friends.
So you really dont have any codes you have to worry about.
I really want you to check the egr pipe connecting to the intake manifold.

One more thing did you get the codes using the using the "keydance" on-off-on-off-on... if so try and go back and count the flashes again, because 13 + 14 are both MAP related.
I'm still looking for the resistance.

Yea Thats How I Got The Codes. Im Gonna Try The Egr Pipe Tomorrow. So Ill Check Back Then.

I could not find the resistance it is not in my book
Did you do the keydance again.
