Jspec or USspec?

I have a 93 N/A I'm looking to drop a 3sgte in it. Should I go with the Jspec or USspec? And does anyone know where I can get the swap done on the East Coast preferrably as close to VA as possible. I know plenty of people have done this swap I just haven't met any.

Personally I would say the US spec.
The extra HP in the jspec does not warrant the harder to find parts in my opinion.

If I were you, I would shoot an e-mail to Bryan "NoShoes" Moore.
He is one of the best MR2 tuners in the country and one of the first to ever swap a 3sgte into the NA MR2 (he did it back in 1997 I believe).

He lives in Virginia Beach, but he travelsthe country tuning, building and racing MR2s. I know he just left NYC this past Sunday and is on his way to Portland Oregon.

You can find him here:
noshoes.madpowaz.com

He did the tuning work my car.

I saw on another post on here that you said u could pretty much bolt 3sgte heads right onto the 5s ... by doing that would that get the compression down low enough to turbo the 5s and run enough boost to give it some real top end bc in my opinion with the few little mods I've made the 5s has decent torque a good starting point at least

The problem with turboing the 5sfe is the bottoom end.
It is not nearly as strong as the 3sgte.

is it possible to make it strong enought to handle high psi?

I know you can get rods, pistons rings etc for it ... is it worth the effort or just swap the motor bc I'm not getting rid of the car its in WAY to good of shape and a got it so damn cheap

One of the 3 fastest MR2s in the country has a 53fe that has been turboed.
Anything is possible.
It is just a matter of time and money.
It's just not the easiest road to go down.

If you really want to do it, sign onto the MR2 board:

There is a whoel section in the MKII forum on hybrid engines.
