Dude, I have bought some after market foglights. When I get under the front end of my 99 4runner, I see wiring connections that are unused taped to the one's running to the main light cluster. Are these for the fog lights? There is a red translicent rocker switch on my dash (lower left) that I assume is there for fog lights? Do I simply tap into this wire or do I need to wire the whole thing? Do tell!! Cheers

I would like to know the answer to both these posts?

homebasix is correct in assuming they are for the fog lights. You have to insert a separate switch on the dash for them. The originals controls were on the stalk.

My truck also has the wirring connections in place and taped to the main light cluster wires. I have no switch in my dash. If I could find a Stalk control it would just be a matter of changing it. Installing the fuse under the hood, and pluging in the fog lights. Or would their be more to it? I guess my question is since the wirring harness seems to be in place is it just a matter of getting Fog lights, a fuse, and a sitch??

May not need the fuse. The wires may be fused already.

Actually the owners manual (under fuses) shows the location of the fog light fuse as being under the hood. I checked. It's there & just needs a fuse installed. Someone mentioned a relay not sure if it requires one?
