3M Clear Bra on Silver Alero

I have been looking at bras for my 2002 Alero pretty much since the day I purchased it. I have heared some horror stories though about the conventional bras.

I have, however, heard great things about the clear 3M bras that many dealerships put on their vehicles before they sell them. Anyone have one of these bad boys? As a dealer edded accesory, many add $650 to the final sticker price. The dealers that I have contacted charge $350 aftermarket. I found a local place though here in Denver that will put a 12 inch 3M bra on the hood, the front fenders, and entirely cover both side-view mirrors for only $150.00 :naughty: This also comes with a lifetime warranty if the bra begins to turn yellow, peel, or anything else of the defective nature. They also offer free mobile service!

So whatcha' guys think? Good deal? Let me know soon. I have the three upcomming days off of work and school so I would like to get it done soon.

I love the stuff! As long as it doesnt brown or start to peel thats a pain! I havent used it in the manor you are talking about but I do have it on my car. I put small strips of it on the corner of the door by the mirror. I folded it over to make a paint wear shield If you look close there you can see where the door seal wears the paint down and like on my cutlass I had the paint will wear through and then it will start to chip and peel. Ive learned my lesson on the gm door seals to where I put this on all of the wear spots now to prevent this pealing and chipping. I know that this isnt exactly what you wanted to know but the stuff does work well if it is applied right! Very good stuff! Saved a many paint jobs!

Sounds good! I made an appointment today to get it put on! I'm pretty stoked. This is the only "aftermarket" type thing that I want to have done on my car. I'm pretty much a stock kinda' guy!

Anyway, I'll let you know how it turns out.

I got the bra on...it's better than I had thought. Even four feet away you can't tell it's on. It took the guy only about 15 minutes to do the hood and the fenders. If you feel comfortable doing it, I would go ahead. It looked pretty simple. Anyway, I only paid $150 for it, wich seems steep for 15 min. of work, but other independent places and dealerships were charging $350+ and weren't offering a lifetime warranty, which I got. In my oppinion, I got a great deal. If your thinking about doing it, go for it!

After nearly four months, that bad boy is still looking like the day I got her put on. There is no cracking or yellowing of the clear bra, and I know for a fact that it's saved me a couple of rock chips.

Notice how I started my last post by saying "that bad boy" then I went on to call it a "her". Kinda funny :)

I read your posts about this and I have found a place you can order the kits and do the install yourself. It is very similar to installing window tinting.

http://www.invinca-shield.com/asp/genkit.asp?kit=3323

That link should be the kit for the Alero.
