hey all
i got my car its a 2.2l sohc turbo 91 probe gt.
will i did the oil change and changed the pcv valve so far i still have to change the spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and distributor rotor..
i also have a 2.25" cat back exhaust..
ok heres the problem i was reving in to day and i noticed after 4500 the car hesitates a little b4 going up to red line.. and it kinda stutters when it revs between 4500 and 5000.. my red line is around 6400..or futher i didnt push it yet..
so my question is why does it stutter and hesitate?
my guess is b/c im not getting proper detination b/c my plugs are bad or b/c more air is exiting the motor then entering /c i have the stock air box on for now.. i have a cone filter that i wating to put on and i have platinum spark plugs that will be on dis friday.. can they be any other reason for this?
also my exhaust mainfold has a leak in the gasket so air is veting out b4 it reaches the turbo.. that too will be fixed this weekend along with my leaky down pipe..
thanks for the help

Most Turbo engines that experence a stumble find the detonation sensors at the root of the issue. Sometimes the sensor is retarding spark advance and reducing the pressure for real reasons and sometimes it is a false issue.

It is a manufacture provided service procedure to flash the combustion chamber with steam to force the carbon to break free from the piston face and valve face.

With the engine at normal operating temperature and approximately 2000 RPM, allow the engine to ingest by a vacuum hose 12 oz soda can of water.

A puff of steam and the carbon is gone.

You can use as often as needed.

This is a must deal if you are near a pinging point and using forced induction.

Adding a fuel additive is good also.

I recommend ChevRON TechRON to clean the back side or tulip of the valve
and all components on the fuel path, of varnish.

Also keep in mind that this may be sensor related. If you're flashing a code, get it read. It sounds related to a problem subaru's have when one of the 02 sensors goes bad. Also check the MAF sensor and make sure that's not starting to go bad.

If a faulty sensor is the culprit it may be running in some sort of safe or diagnostic mode. Basically richening the hell out of the engine, setting a lower redline, and pulling back timing to a safer level. Post up if you find out what's wrong, then everyone can see what it was.

thanks again, it may be sensor related because i do have a check engine light, i think it is on b/c on of my o2 sensors may not be getting the right reading because my exhasut mainflod is leaking form the gasket.. so i think that that is the problem, im gettin the gasket fixed tommorow so well see what happens, but since i put on the intake cone filter the car stops stumbling at hi rmpz..
ill keep you posted
