Undercarriage - tamiya s2000

I was reading through the painting guide for the tamiya s2000 and I noticed that the undercarriage is painted the body color rather than the traditional black....so that would mean an yellow s2000 would have a yellow undercarriage???

Has anyone taken a look underneath an actual s2000? What color is it?

Most modern cars carry the body color all over.
The undercoat on my Supra is clear, as it is on many cars.
Body on frame vehicles (pick-ups and SUV's) tend to have a black frame and body color undercarrage.

The S2000's undercarriage is, in fact, body color. It is not covered with the shiny clear coats, however, so you should spray a dulling clearcoat over it. Everything is called out correctly in the Tamiya instructions except the spare tire well (the lump at the back with the ribs) which is actually a light gray. Of course, that's for a new car. A year will put a layer of black/brown grime on everything under the car....
