Alright guys, i haven't posted in a while, but i think this one is worth it. Don't know if it is in the right section, but where else would you put it....I will be getting a "real" job soon and i am looking to finance a car. Here are my options, tell me what you think. 2004 VW R32 Golf, 2003 Mustang Cobra, WRX STI, S2000, TT Supra, or a Vette. I am looking to spend from $30,000 to $35,000. I like the R32 or the Supra myself, but am stuck. That R32 is sick with the Stage 3 kit from the factory.

TT supra!

VW is just gonna break on you, brute force isn't my style so cobra and corvette are out, STI is cool, but I'm not a fan of AWD or the stupid boxer engine.
So leave myself with supra or s2000... I figured that was a nobrainer

what's wrong with your current setup?

VETTE.. If ur gonna spend that kinda of money, get the fastest car and the car that all the girls love. You can't compare a vette to a golf, or sti or s2000 or supra, the vette is on another level.

:evillol: after messing with a STI last night on the wat home from work there is no other choice for me but that would be money withstanding of course

i think that you should drive them all and then decide because you never know what a car is really like before you get behind the wheel. You got a tough choice to make but i think that the supra is your best bet if you want a real sports car. Im in new york so i cant have most of these cars with the roads here being shit and the insurances sky high. Insurance on a vette here is 10k a year GRRR!

STI, its a nice looking car fast and it has plenty of aftermarket parts, because you really cant leave any car stock, if your like me

i would have to say STI, you cant beat AWD and 300 horses from the factory, and they are durable as hell, except for the paint anyway

How could you not put Evo8 on the list? i say go with an evo or the supra tt
lotusonwater19
03-12-2004, 02:32 PM
supraTT just cuz of the amazing gains with a short list of mods, and those are definately in demand. and im a girl and i wouldnt care if a guy drives a vette (i'd think he's a 40 year old geezer) (oops no offense if you are actually that old..im just young) or get an s2000 cuz its rwd sport car like the supra. but it is your own personal preference if you like rwd or awd. awd is nice, but if you can drive awd the way its meant to be driven. limited center slip differential is very nice indeed.

03-12-2004, 02:33 PM
and the s2000 and sti would be newer cars so thats less beating on it than if you were buying one of the older models cuz u know the previous owner was prolly beating the hell out of it before selling it to you.

sti or supra

The Main Reason i did not put the Evo on the list is for this reason. The turbo is pushing 20-22 PSI of boost from the factory, and it is only making 260HP. That is inefficient as hell. I can push ten puonds on my engine and get thos kind of gains. I am going to test drive em before i buy one, but i was just trying to narrow it down. My current setup is fine, but i want something that can put the power to the ground with AWD or RWD. Don't get me wrong, i love my car, i just want something different at the same time.

if you want something different you gotta go with the higher displacement engines like on the supra. You'll get more torque on a lightly modified supra than on a heavily modified civic. Then there's the torque steer issue.

suburu = garbage
I say go with an rx-7 and hook it up like crazy. I'm saying this because in the city I live in I've only seen one, vettes / cobras are a dime-a-dozen, same with the supra ever since the import explosion, i just think that makes the rx-7 that much cooler. I don't know the stats compared to the others, but thats just my opinion.
Also, what someone said about test driving: thats definitly a good idea, just because you may hear great things about cars, doesn't mean you personally would like them..

Being an N/A fan, I'd go with the S2000. The F20C represents the pinnacle of all-motor potential in a production car, not to mention the fact that S2000's are SO much fun to drive. With your budget, you could get a brand new one, or get a slightly older model and use the leftover money for mods. The corvette will be the fastest out of the box, but at least where I live, they're a dime a dozen. I agree, however, with the idea that the only way to truly get a feel for any car is to take a test drive.

Intersting choices. For shock value, I'd go with the lambo. For a reliable, unique exotic with affordable parts, however, I'd ultimately have to go with the NSX.

wonder what happens if you stick a viper v10 on that lawnmower. You guys think that it would smoke that viper powered motorcycle or what. Gotta love dodge :)

Of the cars you listed, I'd do the Supra.
I also like the NSX idea.
Or you could drop a C32 in the trunk of the Sol. Doesn't someone make a supercharger for that? But where would you store the roof...

if u have the money i would say the tt supra or an nsx; however if it was up to me, i would a get a 3rd gen integra ls and turbocharged that. it would cost 15 g's the most for everything, and u have a 250 whp nice looking car. :2cents:

not a bad idea. You could buy a fully built engine w/ turbo that will make around 350hp and will be emissions legal. Dump that into a teg and dont forget the jdm front end converion.

that is basically my plan. the only problem is money since im a college student, should hopefully get my turbo kit by the end of summmer, then a down payment on a white 2000+ ls with low mileage integ, once the kit is install, jdm conversion here i come :icon16:
