stopped running

i was drivin my truck and then i hit a traintracks crossing at a high speed and as soon as i hit the bumps my truck shut off??? why is this???? please help and

Also does a head gasket or vavle cover gasket leak make the engine lose compression?? alot you think??

as for the truck, did it just shut off, and then you could restart it?? or did it shut off, and now you cant start it at all????/

as far as the gasket issue, a leaking valve cover gasket will spill oil all over your manifolds, making a big cloud of white smoke. a leaking head gasket will loose compression, or blow out into your cooling system. mixing coolant and oil.

What kind of truck? I know your in the chevrolet forums but then again your asking a truck question in the camaro forums. So if its a Ford you might of tripped the fuel shut off cause I know it don't take alot of vibration to shut it off and in that case you will have a reset button somewhere. Now if it's a Chevy then you might have a short somewhere. Not that chevys have a problem with shorts but anythings possible.
