I would like to adjust the parking brake on my Explorer, but I don't see a place on the cable to adjust its tension. Does anyone have any info that would help?
Thanks,
Grant

Wish I had an answer for you, but I do know that if the rear brake linings are worn, that is making the parking brake out of adjustment.

do you have rear disks?? if you do the parking brake is actually a drum inside of the disk but you already knew that right?? okay to adjust the parking brake there is a little star wheel you need to turn with a brake spoon if you pop the rubber insert out of the backing plate and shine a flashlight in the hole you can see it. i like to tighten up each wheel untill it locks up then loosen it off till it turns freely. hope this helps you guys!!

These have a history of falling apart even if you never use them. This is likely the cause of your problem. Inspection is nearly impossible because of the rust edge that forms at the back of the drum. If they weren't bad, they will be when you remove the drum.
