Okay i want to Dip into the Brain trust on this board. When i do purchase my X this fall I plan on once a month buying one mod a month. starting with calmini 3 inch suspension lift and 3 inch body lift. Okay question will that effect the install of a a skidrow rear tire swing out carrier since it only says a 2 inch lift? Will that be a problem. Will be going with alot of Calmini equipment for the suspension, skidrow skipplates, arb front bumper, warn winch, rockskidz for the rockerpanels,BFG AT TA's for everyday driving and for Offroad MT Baja Claws in 32 or 33's.

I'm not a big fan of the body lift. However, if you must have one, I would cross the 3" off your list and go with the 2". With the 2" body lift you get all the benefits of the 3" without all the problems. As far as the bumper is concerned, the Skid Row already looks funny under the hatch because Skid Row didn't feel it was importnat to finish it. Add another inch there plus having it hang an inch below the side bumper pieces just doesn't sound good to me. To make it 3" compatible you would have to have it modified by a fabricator.

Only rear bumpers currently made to order for the Xterra are the Skid Row and the Calmini. The Calmini is a nicely made bumper, but doesn't offer the features of the Skid Row or the option for a body lift without modification. You definately get more for your money with the Skid Row. My only real beef is that issue of leaving exposed underbody work under the hatch. SOmething you can easily fix with a metal strip or something, that's why I don't know why SKid Row left it out.
As far as the 2" body lift, I think Automotive Customizers is who makes it.
When you get this all done be sure to post pictures! :D

Oh i will definately post pics nodz on that lil piece i could have a 3/16 inch piece welded in to cover that gap. Yeah i like Skid row's over Calmini i found on 4x4 conection i think they sell everything for the Skid Row swingout carrier in one package.

Nobody has asked so I will: What sort of setup are you planning for your X in general? Not many jump right in with a suspension AND body lift right off the bat. What size tires are you looking to run? Unless they're over 33" and/or of the ##x12.50 size you can get by with just one or the other. Do you plan to get an ARB/TJM/Calmini/Shrockworks bumper/bull-bar? How will you get it lifted to match the body lift? Only a custom modification will do that for you.

Well nothing is set in concrete but looking to run no bigger than 33's and is going with ARB bull bumper with winch. just wanted to make sure it does not bottom out and make sure it is very worthy of keeping everything up to par with anything i might do in the future, is going with the calmini 3" suspension lift and Automotive Customizer's 2" body lift so nothing rubs anywhere under any condition's and thanks for asking i'm always looking for great info from anyone on this future project

A 3" suspension lift with HD torsion bars and stiffer shocks won't let you bottom out with 32's. I've got an ARB and winch and have probably bottomed out 2-3 times in the last couple of years, if that.

One correction. With an ARB you might have some rubbing of the metal against the outside of your 32" front tire. Most people just cut this area off and re-weld it to a better angle.
Get 20% stiffer Bilsteins up front. I've got Urethane bump-stops as well.

On the AC website, it says that the 2 inch body lift is made for people with after-market bumpers. I have a stock bumper, does it still work?
