Best way to get started?

i was thinking of heading up to local hobby store in austin to see what kinda models they have? any suggestions? do i need to buy paint and a sander and an airbrush? what kinda prices will i be looking at?

Hi therE Steve and welcome along to the model forum.
Have a look at the top of the page under *getting started in the hobby*, there are some good links etc to read and to help you out.
Start off with a nice simple Tamiya kit like the WRX/Skyline GTR34/VW etc.

or maybe the new Revell Pro Street '41 Willys--big tires, big engine ,mean looking, only around $9

Was the new Beetle easy model too? If so I would recommend it to my wife :)

It was very easy......very good kit to start with. It was that basic but still looks a great kit when done
