Whats the fastest.

I am curious. Who drives the fastest Neon out there? Does anyone know? Is there any material proof of how fast it is?

Well, those are just numbers and names. I want to see pictures, faces, cars. I can make alist of names and numbers no problem. I am curious as to what a fast neon looks like. :cool:

What do you think i am the "Amazing Kreskin" i cant just pull out videos, and if you want to see a fast Neon just go outside in the parking lot at work and take a look at mine.

I bought a 2001 dodge neon r/t and it can beat anyones out there. I scraped the warrenty and went straight to eaton super charger, but that on and race headers, borla exhaust, bbs wheels, cold air intake, etc. I timed it. it goes 0-60 in 6 flat and that's with wheel spin so if anyone can beat me there lying:flipa:

96 'G20 - custom intake/exhaust, '91 intake cam (2 deg), 19 deg BTDC.

Man 6 is pretty quick for a neon. Stock they do it in about 8-9.
So to shave a full 2-3 minutes off the time is pretty good.

A neon doing 0-60 in six seconds is pretty damn amazing. My '99 g20t probably couldn't do that even if I had NOS. Why the Hell did I get a g20? I dunno. I wasn't thinking straight. Another year and i'll trade it in for either a wrx or maybe a horse.

If it is 6 seconds, thats amazing. Is that a complete list of what you have done??

A G20 suitably modified (blower, NOS, all possible bolt ons) would be plenty fast, but get a WRX.

No.

A corvette does it in 13.3 seconds, with 345 horsepower (this was a few years ago).
A G20 has 140hp, an intake, lets say 20hp. Its not possible.

will be purchasing a Hahn turbo in spring. the site says on a SOHC with the auto trans it pulls low 13's. that's just the turbo (no aftermarket exhaust or internals). They also said that if you dialed in your launch, 12's are not impossible. Len Ayala drives Hahn's testbed. he has the turbo on a manual DOHC with an exhaust and Crane cams and he pulls 10's and is shooting for 9's. That is, of course on slicks, but the car is otherwise streetable, in fact it is his daily driver and he straps on rims and tires to go to and from the track.

How much boost is that turbo going to deliver??
I sumapose high 13s are possible, but I'll wait till I see a timing slip.

neon r/t stock 0-60 is 7.7, and a 1/4 mile in 16.2. nice upgrades. supercharger = much $$$. But i think they look omega nice so have fun.

Mine did a whopping 17 sec 1/4 mile (gotta love a 3 speed auto tranny), but now that I have seats from an Acura in it.....it will smoke all of you :finger:

I've got a three speed auto that runs low 12s:D ...its not a neon, but still, a 20 year old 3spd

As for the Neon I was referring to above...there was an article in Turbo magazine about it...dunno which issue though, I was reading it while waiting to get my nails done...yes they had a Turbo mag in a nail salon LOLOL.

For pictures and info of the fastest neons out there check out www.turbosystem.com for Len Ayala's 9 second neon and www.speedneeds.com for another 9 second neon. Most modified neons are in the high 14-mid 15 second range. From the factory they run the 60 in 7.2 seconds, not 8-9 and the quarter mile in 15.8-16.2 .. The picture that 'tard posted is a picture of a neon r/t from Dodge's website.

The neon Neon SRT-4 does 0-60 in under 6 seconds.. all for under 20 grand...
