I recently bought a 97 civic ex, i'm thinkin about swappin the engine to the b16a, well my question is will the b16a engine from jdm sir 89-91 fit my car, some1 told me that i should get a usdm b16, is that engine the same one as the one on the sir II????????
My car has high miles but they all highway miles should i swap the engine or just fix up that one???

any1 know some website to find more info about this??????

well if you have the cash you should get the b16 or b18c1. and if you wanted it smog legal you would have to get a usdm one and it would have to be of the same year or newer. the 88-91 b16 was cable tranny so you would have to get a cable to hydraulic conversion kit. and you would have to change it to obd2 becuase it's obd0. and i don't know how hard that would be but i hear it's a pain in the ass and you would just be better off getting one of your year or newer if you have the money. If you don't want to spend 3000+ on a swap you could do stuff to your motor but it won't be near as quick. I don't know how much speed you want so i don't know if you'll be happy with that. i think the greddy turbo kit is around 1500 for your motor so that would be an option.
