Air Bag Module Location?

I own a 1997 GMC Jimmy.
I just purchased an air bag module (brain) for the vehicle. It needs replacement. It was setting alot of codes. Can someone tell me where it is located on the vehicle?

I have a 99 jimmy, and i found the air bag module under the console under the carpet. The sad thing is that the seats and everything have to be removed. Hope that I helped.

Did you get the airbag module to fix the airbag light? I have a 98 Jimmy and the airbag light keeps coming on a different times. I'm not reading any codes though.

Good question, my 97 Jimmy use to have the air bag indicator come on intemittently, now it comes on full time. I was thinking that I had a bad wire in the steering column. Maybe I should be looking at the module as well. I as well do not get any codes.

Here's What I found on my 97 Jimmy. The air bag light was coming on all of the time. Someone checked the codes for me and told me that there were many air bag codes. Mostly pertaining to air bag module voltage. These modules go for about $230 new. I found a module that was from the same type of vehicle but the truck had a bad trans and motor. All of the numbers matched up. I located it on the right inside near the lower kick panel passenger side front. I disconnected the battery, plugged in the module, re-connected the battery...................the light does not stay lit anymore. It only comes on when vehicle starts up. Not bad for a $25 module. Had the system rechecked with a snap on code scanner and everything checks fine. good luck to all and thanks to all that helped.
