Ok,
I've been doing this model for a long time, mostly becausei was lazy, but now im done it.
I'm disappointed with the paint, and i dont want to fix it. This was my first time using tamiya compound, and i did not use it properly. By the time i got used to it and did it right, the paint on this model was down to the primer. I will not polish this car any more because of the closeness to the primer(if that makes sense). I HATE painting. I hope the next model i make will have a nice smooth shiny body. AHHH, hate painting.
Ok, for this model, i added the lip, but i shaved the line between the lip and the bumper. I molded it onto the bumper. I shaved the licence plate holes. I lowered it a little. The interior has a role cage and just painted seats and panels. I also made very small, unoticeable side skirts just so the side is as low as the front lip, and i added a small skirt to the back bumper as well. These are molded on and you probably wont notice them. I also cut the grill, there used to be lines going vertical and horizontal, now it is only horizontal. No major things, i kept this model pretty simple.
Oh boy, lots of writing.
In most of the pictures, it looks like there's a positive camber, and i dont know why it looks like that, but they are straight. The angle of the car makes the wheels look "crooked".
Well, the paint is a metallic black, and here are the pics:
lots of orange peel lots of orange peel doo doo doo doo daa.

Sec, it's paint looks just like my rx-7's. Every model paint job I've done since then has been better. Practice makes perfect.
EDIT: It DOES look cool though, despite the orange peel.

You should get a polishing kit from detail master. I t has really high grit polishing pads (3200,3600,4000,6000,8000,12000). You just sand it with each of these and when you're done your paint will be really smooth. Then use a coat of your favorite wax to really bring out the shine.

you shouldve done like 4 or 5 or 6 thick coats of clear coat then wet sand with 2000 grit to get rid of the orange peel, then rubbed it with compound...thats what i did with my R32 :evillol:
Its real cool though...really like the rims.

yah, i never added clear coat, why? cuz im a retard. :)
next time, when i repaint, i will put on clear coat..
like i said, the funniest thing about all of this is that when i was painting, i didnt even notice the orange peel, or maybe i did and i was just so sick of painting and looking at this model.
its funny, i dont mind it too much, i think i might just take lots of time for painting my upcoming s2k and jdm tegs that i plan to get...
yup, well this is my first model so whatever..
thnx for all the replies.
