Coolant leak

My T/A is leaking coolant (about a drop every 20sec when it's not running I haven't checked it with the engine running yet) it's comming from the front center of the engine bay, right behind the bumper. It appears to be running down a metal pipe and dripping right infront of a pully. I was told 2 weeks ago when I had the tranny worked on that there was a very slow leak comming from my water pump but I've never seen coolant under my car before today but now there's a good sized pool under it. So if it is comming from the water pump does that mean I have to replace the pump or just a seal of somekind? Incase you can't tell I don't have a huge amount of automotive knowlage but any advice would be appreciated.

There is a small hole in the bottom of the water pump neck, just behind the pulley. Water will escape through this hole when the seal in the water pump is going bad. The bigger the flow, the more trashed the seal is. There is no fix other than getting a new pump.

Thanks for the help I'm going to inspect it good tomorrow morning just to make sure that's where it's comming from. How difficult is it to change out a water pump or is this something I should have a shop do for me, if so anyone know what the adverage cost of having one installed is? It may take me a little while to get this done, is it ok to be driving the car or should I let it sit as much as I can till I get it fixed?

First thing is your bucking or missing at idle or at higher rpm's because you might have damaged the opti spark already, If its not, I would drain all the coolant from the car (assuming you have another car to drive) and take a blow dryer and dry the area right below your water pump or spray it with wd40. It's not that hard to change a water pump if you would like I can send you directions on how to do it. It should take you about 4 - 5 Hours if your not that familiar with working on cars and 2 1/2 -3 Hours if you are
