hey i have a stock engine on my 89 crx si.
should i get a new chip for it
or new computer
from a gsr or something or would that not work

Why? You said it yourself, "stock engine". It wont work because the GSR is Vtec and OBD1 & OBD2. Also, chipping it will show little performance gains with just a stock motor.

Not all of them the old teggys were non vtec OBD0 motors but other wise yup.

from my experience, it is not worth it for a stock engine, and as it was said the gsr is v-tec so no.

you also have an 89 PM6 ECU, which is a pain in the ass to chip. I have a ROM burner... i burn chips for people, make custom tunes, and chip ECUs as well, and i know the 88-89 PM6 is a pain to chip.
