Tailpipe Emissions

What vehicles are required to be emissions tested?
Effective July 1, 2002, all 1996 and newer gasoline-powered vehicles registered in an emissions county (http://www.dmv.dot.state.nc.us/enforcement/emissionsinspections/current.html) are required to receive the On Board Diagnostics(OBD II) emissions test.

Additionally, through December 31, 2005, all gasoline-powered vehicles less than 25 years old, up to and including model year 1995, registered in one of the original nine emissions counties, (WAKE, FORSYTH, GUILFORD, DURHAM, GASTON, CABARRUS, MECKLENBURG, ORANGE, or UNION), will require an exhaust (tailpipe) emissions test.

Effective January 1, 2002, all registered motor homes are exempt from any type of emissions testingThis is off the NC DMV site, I would like to know what exactlly is a Tailpipe Emissions test, and do the SR and/or RB20 have any chance of passing this test, i have never been with a sr or RB b4 therefore i do not know.
LIGHT DUTY VEHICLES
1981-later CO - 1.2 HC - 220
those are the numbers I found on the site(i think those are the right ones, someone from NC can back me up i hope.) what is HC? and if anyone has tried putting a SR or RB through emmissions what numbers did you come up with?

sorry if anyone is bothered by me posting this for whatever reason...just trying to find out some info

tailpipe emissions are just testing exhaust emissions. standard emissions check.

sr and rb20 will pass, but most likely not on pump gas. i heard 94 gas will pass but i doubt it. i need to legalize mine in a couple weeks so i'll let you know, im most likely putting 110 octane in it to pass.

rb25/26 pass without any changes.

o yea, make sure you have a catalytic convertor. (i have one but am ripping it out right after e-check :) )
