ok so im driving along the highway and the engine light comes on...no driveability problems or anything, i *might* have been pushing it a little hard that night....
took it to the machanic and they pulled a code P0410 (secondary air injection malfunction). the guy said it's an intake leak...reset the code which came back after about 30 miles of driving (im assuming its the same code that tripped the MIL). I took apart the ducting between the MAF and throttle body and put it back tight...MIL stays on, maybe its waiting for a warm up cycle/set of conditions. however....i cant seem to erase the code by pulling the 2 ecm fuses in the fuse box under the hood. whats going on?
i did talk briefly to a mechanic at the dealership and he said a common problem in s-10's is water getting on the air pump(between bumper and sway bar on passenger side) and blowing a fuse. well i didnt really know i had an air pump...what system does it pump air through? and what fuse would it trip? checked all the fuses in both panels and didnt see anything blown. so maybe that has nothing to do with it. any ideas anyone???????

it pumps air to the exhaust if you can locate the air pump the rubber hoses have water in them sometimes you can remove them and dry them and the pump out with compressed air but usually you need to replace the pump. the fuse in located behind the battery in the right fender. you need to remove the battery to get at it i believe it's a 40 amp maxi. you need a scan too to reset the light or fix the problem and wait a while. it might be possible to reset it by unhooking the battery for a long time but not recomended get autozone or someone to reset it for free.

havent gotten it fixed yet...ill let you know when I do. I did find the air pump for around $120 I think, but I havent figured out how to get at the old one to replace it.

how do I get out the air pump? is it underneath the battery as well? I looked under there without taking it out and I dont think I see anything...
