i recently put a cold air intake on my 89 rex si.
it came with a blue hose that goes from the cold air intake pipe to the engine. I think its called a recirculation hose. anyways on my orginal hose i have another hose (part of it is metal pipe) kinda of glued or sauder to the recirculation hose that goes from the engine i think down to the fuel injector ( thats not the point) aNYWAYS.. is okay if i replaced that hose also? i started pulling it off and green stuff came out of it. I'm not sure what that is..but iwas just wondering if i could replace it with any hose?

thats a coolant line. its there to heat up that breather line. every source of air intake on the car has a coolant line attached to heat the air. you can either leave the metal pipe contraption on there, and just hook up your new hose, or you can take it off and put one piece of coolant hose in its place. i personally bypassed every intake heater line on my b16, but im sure it doesnt make such a huge difference that i could brag about horsepower

thanks ,
so if ijust replace that coolant line with any hose thats okay?
it doesnt have to be a heat reisitant hose and it doesnt have to touch the recirculation hose like on the orginal?

I probably should've just replaced mine, but I busted out the dremel tool and cut the metal piece holding them together in half LOL.
