3rd Brake Light

I drive a 95' Grand Am SE and I am having trouble figuring out how to remove the 3rd brakelight to replace the bulb without damaging the roof.

I also have a 95 grand am, and had to stop by the dealer to have them show me. I could not figure it out either. There are no screws - the cover has 2 plastic fins inside that stick up with clips on them. You have to pull straight down on it, and when you do the cover will come down along with the clips. My clips came off the fins as well. So then you have to put the clips back on the cover fins to ready it for re-install. Now to the bulbs - they are not your typical bulbs and they cost - I paid $4.99 each, and there are 2 of them. You pull these straight out of their sockets - they don't twist or screw in. Take the new bulbs and push them straight into the socket - you will know when they are seated properly. After you have replaced the bulbs, push the cover straight back up and the clips will catch. You are finished! The whole thing is a pain, and once you have it apart you will wish it was better engineered - but you have to work with what you have.
