Oil consumption

I have a 1995 Blazer with the 4.3l engine. Engine was replaced last year and has only 15000 miles on it.

With the old engine I had never any consumption of oil. The new engine seems to be using about 1 quart (1 litre) of oil each 5000miles.

Is this normal? Seems a little strange since the engine is new?

The only thing that has happende to the new engine is that it once overheated caused by a leak in the radiator. The gauge just touched the red zone before noticed. Could this be the cause?

you guys think I should do anything about this or just refilling a little oil once a month?

The dealer used 0w-30 Castrol SLX oil. For the next change I will probably change to 5-30.

The overheating may cause something but I doubt it. New engines are prone to use a little oil until broken in, However, I wouldv'e guessed by 15000 miles things should be settled in by now. A quart every 5000 isn't too bad. I'd definentley switch to 5W-30 though.
