My Lanos hatch has a 1.6L E-TEC engine. I was wondering how hard it would be to replace it with a Honda B16 or B18 VTEC engine. Why? More power, parts, and it wouldnt be a knockoff any longer. Since the Lanos is almost a carbon copy of the Civic hatchback, I suppose this wouldnt be too far-fetched.

the engine you have its not a knock off. many companies name their engines with names like that. Zetec, ecotec, etc....i guess their marketing dep. thinks make them sounds cool

but back to the swap, unless your engine bay is a very close relative to the honda ones it will be quite some work. and if you're gonna go that far and invest that much time and money go with an engine that will give you some serious power. A turbo 4g63, or an Sr20DET would give you masive amounts of power
