okay, so i just bought this thing, and i don't know how to make the 4wd work. all i see is the 4hi/4lo switch. no other switches. and the 4hi/4lo switch seems to do nothing.
i just junked a 93 jimmy, but it had the manual 4wd. should i just put that shifter in this truck? is something broken? am i just doing it wrong?
my kingdom for an owner's manual....
any assistance appreciated...

To get it into 4hi, you should just have to push the button, it will work at any speed. For the 4lo, you have to moving less than 3mph(I think) and you have to be in neutral.
You could download the owners manual at
https://www.mygmlink.com/
you have to register but they also notify you of any recall info
The manual is in pdf format and you can print it if you like

thanks for the info.
apparantly mine is just not working. there are lots of other posts that tell me where to start looking for culprits.
frankly, if the main pieces are fine, i'm gonna get rid of the electric thingy and put my old manual shifter in. maybe it just engages remotely like the switch does, but it feels more manly... :-)
thanks again,
brian
