do u really need that much downforce?

actually, yes I do. I prefer auto cross over drag racing. But I got the hydraulic spoiler because if I do drag race then it tilts back for more aerodynamics.

does the whale tail throw you off on windy days? what do you use for frontal down force? only having the rear wing can create alot of improper down force problems and controll issues.

To be completely honest with you, the wing does not affect the handling at all on windy days. I bought the wing because I found that while autocrossing, the rear end liked to kick out which meant it had plenty of frontal downforce, the wing helps alot by putting more weight on the rear end of the car. at low speed the wing is up for maximum down force and at high speeds it has lower downforce and bet speed. In auto cross you want slow in, fast out.

As far as the wing creating control issues and improper downforce, it now handles like no other car that I have ever driven.

Have you ever tried fingering a girl and shifting at the same time?
I have mastered that technique.
The backseat of a zx2 doesn't offer a lot of room while having sex.

Well I just found this forum and i was bored so i thought that i would say something to get some attention. When you are stuck in an office on a base in turkey things tend to get boring.

Downforce?? WTF?? It's a FWD man.. That wing does nothing.. Not to be an asshole or nothing but a wing on a FWD will NOT provide any downforce on the front wheel's.. It dont give it any better traction. Don't give it any better handling..Anyway's, Nice car. I'm looking into getting a ZX2 myself.

youre right, skater. a rear wing doesnt provide downforce on the front wheels. however, his car still has REAR wheels, and yes they do a HUGE part in keeping that vehicle on the track. acceleration isnt the only thing a car does you know. when you take a turn, weight shifts forward onto the front wheels. while thats happening, the weight is coming off the rear, and they will break lose. that is the whole point of his wing.

Yes, I agree.. But there's no need for a "double deck" ricer (dont get offended) wing on the back end of that car.. IMO.. I understand about the weight shifting but at low speed's I don't think its gonna make much of a difference.. Although I might be wrong..

I used to say it was for down force just to shut people up. I really have it because I like it, I don't care what other people think.

lol then just say that, it makes you sould like less of a ricer to just say that you like it lol

Down force on the rear wheels will give better tracion on high speed turns , however that spoiler was desighned for respectable high speeds and wont give any real big benefits unless your gonna take a half moon turn at 180 mph on an oval. Tires rated at such speeds are the most important thing then the downforce. If the car isnt lowered it changes the overall funcionability as well , the idea is to create a high speed vacuum under the car so it sticks like a suction cup on the turns. I spent months researching downforce , its such a tricky thing that one little mishap or adjustents off it could have so many power robbing affects. Lifting the rear of the car shifts the wieght to the front and pushing the rear takes wieght off the front losing controllability in tight turns. If a spoiler is set for down force on the rear it will slightly help acceleration and a rear lift will help the rear from sliding out on tight turns. Theres a happy balance in between perfect for all round. I will shut up now , im not getting anywheres lol

I like the mean and sexy look of the older vr4's but I have to admit i love the way the zx2 looks, I like it more than the vr4 personally, i could do a million custom things to that car , I would never touch the way the vr4's look, there already done up. Id get a plain jane no power nothing am/fm no tape ,no cd , 5 speed with the dohc no spoiler. That would be one sweet sweet ride. It will transform and become 100% unique using only the stock body and stock interior. The ZX2 is my second choice modification project. First choice is the festiva. I have dreams for that car that could possibly be the craziest thing i ever do as a hobby. A friend of mine fabricates small cars to fit big V8's and I have a 5.0 from a 86 grand marquise I was intending on putting into a 85 escort 4 door hatch but put a different 5.0 in the escort instead. I gave that project to the father in law and started rebuilding the 5.0 marquise engine into a cobra 5.0 (still need 2000 bucks and still need a festiva) my buddy will make a rear end and body/frame reinforcements to fit a drive shaft (which will have to be made custom) I think it will work dandy on that 1.4 meter long car if we work hard enough.
So far I believe the zx2 is my fave looking car. But I love lil cars with big monsters in the closet , gives a new meaning to sleeper and costs less for a sterio system. Sorry I blab so much.
