RICE!! dont put that trash on your car.

But you can get an intake, say from AEM or something like that. You can get any mod that is SEMA certified and it shouldnt void your warranty and if it does, give SEMA a call and they will take car or it.

an air intake? now whos rice? And how is any of my stuff rice?

SKiUNiT, an air intake, or any engine mod for that matter will more than likely void the warranty.

AN intake cannot void the warranty unless the manufacturer can show without a doubt that the parts installation caused damage to the vehicle.

If you do something stupid like Bags, and then try to claim wear on the CV joints then yeah they will void it FOR THAT COMPONENT!!!!

Just like doing burnouts, and then blowing a tranny will void a warrnty as it is consider excessive wear!!!

LOL dude you have no idea what you are talking about, seat covers are fucking ricy as hell, an intake is a performance modification. Moreover, as I said if its SEMA approved it is not going to void your warranty dumb shit.

Seat covers are ricy? I think you are the one who has no idea what your talking about you narrow-minded dolt. As i knew it, the term "rice" was given to a cheap car which has been modified on a low-budget in every way except for performance. Tall spoilers, unpainted body kits, loud exhaust pipes, wacky paint jobs, neon underbody lights, white headlights, and stereos worth twice as much as the car are just a few things that on certain cars can be construed as rice. Furthermore, if any "performance mods" were done to the car, they wouldnt be worth the price paid. Such as exhaust systems, and air intakes.

I have never heard of seat covers, a product intended to protect your seats from wear, to be ricy. So either you have an extremely distorted perception of the already derogatory term "ricy", or you have no idea what your talking about.

And speaking of "ricy" cars, if you think think that seat covers are ricy, then im sure that you must agree, expensive stereos in a not-so-expensive car, pointless windshield banners, and seemingly pointless engine modifications, where there should be money put elsewhere, is also ricy. Say, thats a nice Pontiac ya got there, Ron.

I also must disagree with your statement that if it is SEMA approved it wont void your warranty. Suppose you bought yourself a brand new F-350, and converted it into the same truck shown there some years ago, with the Mattrax kit. Im sure that equipment is SEMA approved. Are you saying that your truck will still be under warranty? I think not. A warranty is not voided if the modification damages the vehicle, it is voided if the vehicle is mechanically altered away from its stock status.

I think you need to learn a little more about what you are talking about before throwing around insults and pretending you know anything about anything. Now, I suggest you grow up and learn to think before you speak.

Whats on that truck, is SEMA approved??? Do you even know? You cannot say that it would fail if you do not even know if the things on the truck are approved. Go to SEMA's site and read up.

Also the reason I think seat covers are ricy is b/c people do them as modifications/ for looks (like you suggested) thus making them rice.

Its funny that you attack me personally by what I drive (considering the car was free), what do you drive anyways.

Also I still don’t understand how an intake can be rice, it serves a purpose, unlike a exhaust tip that lights up, or just some $20 cherry bomb (which have no performance benefits)

As for SEMA approved, im not sure on that one. But considering it was at the SEMA show, i have to assume it is. Im sure your gonna say "well your assuming" or something stupid like that. So im shuttin that down right now.

As for your definition of ricy, i guess i was right, you do have a severely distorted definition of it. I didnt know anything that you do to a car for looks automatically makes it rice. So, putting aftermarket wheels on your car is ricy? Lowering your car is ricy? Laying a pinstripe is ricy? Then i guess you, me, and everyone else who has done any sorta of exterior anything to their car, now owns a ricy car. Is that right?

And before you ask what i drive, do a little research...

you dont seem to understand. If the product is SEMA approved then it will not void your warranty. So lets say this truck had a lift kit on it, a mod like this would for sure void your warnty, so it wouldnt be SEMA approved. And you right you are assuming, you have no idea what was on that car, nor do i, so its hard to say (i dont even know what the truck your talking about looks like)

And for rice, aftermarket wheels arent rice, unless they are gody. Like seat covers, they serve no perpused and most ricers put these on there car instead of paying 500+ for a pair of aftermarket seats. or like the kid who puts a cherry bomb on there car, instead of paying the 300+ for full exhuast, or like the kid who buys half a body kit and doesnt paint it, instead of buying the whole thing at once and painting it. back to the aftermarket rims, if someone would go and buy one or two of a certain rim but not all four and put that on there car, that would be rice.

Now you gotta be more careful than ever, manufactuers are getting more and more strict about warranty all the time. For example- For some manufacturers an aftermarket remote start WILL void your warranty. example # 2 on some new vehicles installing a K&N filter will void your warranty (ford taurus prime example) due to the fact it is cleaned with what is it oil based cleaner or somethin. It fucks MAF sensors. But the truth of the matter is dealers want warranty work thats alot of their money so most dealers will not tell the manufacturer about mods. Talk to your dealer they'll tell ya what you can and can't do. Also don't tell me I don't know what im talkin about either I work for both a ford dealership and a car accessory shop. (thank god for ricers$$)

Alright, its pretty obvious that niether of us is going to sway the other. Were not gonna agree about what constitues a ricer, nor are we going to agree about what will void a warranty. So lets just agree to disagree, Because frankly, im sick of this thread.

And btw, heres the truck i was referring to: http://www.mattracks.com/Trenz_ford02a.jpeg

That might help.

But things like intakes and exhuast shouldnt void the warranty, also i would think bodykits and rims and other apperance mods wouldnt void it ether. but things done to the suspention would. or other modds like turbos and things like that, unless say you get the GM supercharger for the LD9 then that part wouldnt void it.
