I have a 1995 Blazer 4 door 4x4. It has 145,000 miles on it. Problem 1 the 4x4 doesn't work. You can here the transfer case moving when u put it into 4, and back into two, but it is not engaging. The light for 4x4 does come on though. Problem 2 my gas mileage lately has been really horrible, I'm talkin 10 miles to the gallon. My guess is the plugs, but if you don't know already the plugs on a 4.3 are hard to get to withouth the proper tools. Problem 3 the drivers side power seat doesn't work, all the fuses are good. Thanks, if you have any suggestions please let me know.

poor gas milage...is this a 4.3L V6 Wseries?
If so you should be getting about 17-18MPG...
mine has 141,000...and I just replace the internal fuel injection (spider) and internal fuel lines...both were leaking big time...and it was starting hard...running rich...sound like yours?

I got a 95 too about, 123000 miles on it and I'm getting roughly the same, 10-13 MPG. Besides replacing the fuel lines and the fuel injector, does anyone else have any ideas of what I could do to improve it?

do you have a 4.3L V6 Wseries...?
the W is in the VIN number?
If so...you will need to fix the internal fuel peoblem...to increase 7-8mpg...which is significant with todays fuel cost...i.e.173.9 a gallon...
I hate to be the bearer of bad news...but, engine repairs...do not improve themselves in a forum...at some point you must open the plenium and look inside...or hire...a mech. to diagnose the porblem...this is the method...I took and spent $40. for diagnosis only...Best Wishes...

What fuel lines are internal on the W code engines? I am having the same 12-14 mpg problem that a couple of you have stated. I have 2 vehicles so getting parts after a small teardown is not a problem. What kind of cost am I looking at for replacing the regulator and internal fuel lines?

It's called the nut kit... The inbound/outbound fuel lines inside the upper plenum leading to the spider assembly... Pull the upper plenum and look for signs of washing (where one side is cleaner than the other) If the passenger side is washed, it's your CPI unit, if the drivers side is washed, it's the nut kit... If you replace the cpi, replace the nut kit as a matter of preventitive maintenance if you've never changed it out before... CPI unit is about 250.00, the nut kit is a dealer item only and runs about $45.00

The poor mileage is probably being caused by a fuel leak in either the fuel pressure regulator or internal gas lines. In my opinion you should replace them both. Cause like murphy says you fix one and the other is sure to break. The 4.3 L motor has issues with both the pressure regulator leaking and the internal fuel lines leaking. You dont have to buy a whole new CPI unit for $300. Simply purchase a fuel pressure regulator and fuel lines from Lindertech. Simply type www.lindertech.com and go to their fuel injection section. You can find the pressure regulator for $99 and the fuel lines for $55. I repeat SPEND THE MONEY AND REPLACE THEM BOTH. Get a new gasket from your local automotive store and voila. Instant gas mileage improvement, more power and less smoke. They even include instructions on how to replace the regulator. I did this fix a week or so ago and now my blazer is running like a top. Now I just need to fix the damn heater motor. Have a good one all. Steve

I can help you with the power seat problem. My 97 did the same thing. It was heating up the coutesy circuit breaker (in the fuse box). The fuse wouldn't blow, just the circuit breaker and it would reset after sitting for awhile. I started taking it out when it got hot. Found that the carpet padding under the driver seat floor was all wet and dropping the voltage. Worked fine after it dried out.

Hey Dallas,
I'm curious about your heater motor. My buddy borrowed my '95 Blazer over the weekend and it came back with blower motor in-op. It is not the blower switch or fuse and I confirmed the blower motor will work with external power and ground. I suspect the resistor. Get this.... with the blower motor circuit intacked I pulled the connector at the blower motor. I got power on both wires. No ground. Any ideas?
