boost help

hi i've got an 97 gsr full stock block and head, drag turbo kit. i'm running the fmu that came with the kit along with a 5psi spring in a tial w/g. what more would i need to safely boost 8psi?

with what you have now 8 psi should be possible but there is no way to guarantee it will be a safe setup. 8-10 psi seems to be right at the limit of what the stock bottom end with a decent fuel setup and tuning on most hondas can take and since you have a gsr your compression is already higher so you are more likely to get detonation if everything isnt right. If too much boost on a stock engine doesnt blow up your engine detonation definately will.

if i were you, i'd look into investing into a hondata200 system, there are a lot of options with those handly little pieces of hardware

raise the boost and tune it to match with a s-afc ot some thing that tunes the fuel to match it to hte added air..
