My friend has a 91' 300zx NA auto, and is thinking about swapping engines to a vg30de-tt. Is it possible?? and will there be any problems swapping the auto with manual??

Thanks

Here is a helpful site dealing with this swap. I can also provide you with the VG30DETT clip, the clip is basically a car that was wrecked in the back, they use a plamsa cutter, and cut it in half... Everything is there, engine, trans, ECU, EFI wiring, dash board, and RHD (right hand drive) set-up. Aight take it easy man, hit us up for any questions. Peace foo's :p

Nice... but...That's a conversion though... how about a swap??? JUST THE TRANSPLANTING OF THE MOTOR? I'm gonna do it!

... That wouldnt work man. You would end up having to replace the ECU/M, wiring, engine, AND transmission anyways. Im sure you know of something called gear ratios, on the transmission. closer ratio to accomidate lower hp, or wider ratio to accomidate more hp... The NA transmission is set lower, your RPM would run out pretty damn quick. It would be pointless power, and God knows the transmission wouldnt last long at all. And everything to do the auto-manual will be included in the clip, pedal assmembly, brackets, mounts etc. I will find out a deffinate price from my boss tonight. Be back with you soon. Peace foo's :p

Well, the transmission included with ECU and all that junk! Wouldn't this make more since just to transplant/swap???

Not to me at least. I think if your gonna do a TT conversion, it better be the entire powertrain. Engine, trans, ecu, wiring. Otherwise you are getting into some rough ground, where things begin to get over powered and start to fail. That NA transmission isnt built to handle that kind of high end power. It would blow very quickly. I guess if you are looking for a Twin Turbo NA Z, then there is no real EASY way to go about it... Unless you were going to pay someone. But think about it, I would much rather buy a clip, with everything I need to swap, mounts, brackets, tubing, etc. Because when you are swapping out engines in Z32's case, there is more to the swap then just the driveline. The radiator must be changed to accomidate the new turbo boost piping, things of that nature. So if you are VERY mechanically inclined, and can fab up your own parts, then by all means, do what you wish... But if not... BUY A CLIP. Trust me on this one guys. Peace foo's :p
