well its pretty important too.. coz the filter would filter of the unwanted particules from the air flowing in..

On a racecar, not important at all. In fact they are better without it. On a street car though, you really should have a air filter for obvious reasons. Just do yourself a favor and find a nice free flowing foam filter.
