My stable is starting to fill up with Italian Stallions.

I had numerous problems getting this car finished. I had to strip the body after a bad nail-polish experiment. The end result turned out ok though.

The wheels were from the S2000 kit.

The paint combo was borrowed from 'Veyrons' 2000GT. Its Tamiya maroon over coated with mica red, and 3 coats of clear. It's a beautiful color combo. I found a pic of a real TR in this color, and had to build one like it.

Enjoy!

Wow, another new model! We're really cranking 'em out quickly these days! Is this one going to Birmingham tomorrow?

Great color, and the rims look pretty cool on it. I might have to do a similar non-standard color on my Rosso 512 TR. As if I'd paint one in resale red.... :evillol:

This is my 3rd of the year. 3 in 2 months is a new record for me. I think I'll take a short break now.

Yes, this one is ready for the Birmingham show. See you there tommorow.

Or Italian red, the color we usually see Ferraris in. Looks great man! I especially like the detail of the early version single high mount rear view mirror. Don't stop building, do as much as you can while you have the time.

Good job on that! I think the wheels give it a cool 'retro' look. Has Veyron been giving you painting tips?

That's one helluva compliment coming from the master painter. Thank you.

Yeah, or consider divorce...

:grinyes: Gotta keep the old lady pacified for a week or two, so I can continue to play with toys. I having trouble deciding on my next subject anyways.

Has Veyron been giving you painting tips?

Absolutely! This project would've been scrapped last week if it weren't for his helpful advice. Big thanks!!

That colour suits the car very well and it's lovely and smooth too. I once saw a 512tr in that sort of dark candy red. I'm not so keen on the design of the wheels though and the rears are probably too narrow unless you've widened them.

Thanks again for the feedback guys.

M4tt83 - The back wheels from the s2000 were the same width and diameter of the Testarossa wheels. The front wheel were too wide and needed narrowed.

That's rather a surprise, I guess it just goes to show how cars have come on in the last thirty or so years.
