ok, heres the deal, we just got done replacing the injector o-rings due to leaky injectors.
well...first everything back together....then trying to start it, all it would do is turn over....so we checked the fuel pressure and bam...no pressure...all the injectors were for sure properly seated.
we cranked it over a few times again, and the car started to act like the battery was dead...but its not, it would crank about 1/4 of a turn and then just stop...all i can say is that im f*ckin clueless...anyone got any ideas? we need some thoughts on this ASAP thanks

What year is the car? Is gas in the car? can you hear the fuel pump when you turn the key on? Are the injectors plugged in, including the connector that all the injector wires go in to at the end of the fuel rail? Is the vaccuum hose to the pressure regulator attached? Do you smell gas under the hood? (i've replaced dozens of o-rings in these car and often i've thought the o-rings were seated and they blew out when i got pressure on them) Did you tear an internal o_ring reseating the injector? Just some suggestions.

I am having the same problem as the person above. The engine turned a couple of times but now it does absolutely nothing like the post above describes. What is the ramification if ann internal o-ring is torn? The engine almost sounds like it is locked up. I know nothing has gotten into it. Looking for some help.

ok ive got an update, i got the car started but when its running i have to keep the gas pedal pushed in to keep it going , and it idles like its getting ready to blow up. it dosent matter if i have the pedal floored or just half way it bounces between 3000 and 4000 rpm's and spits out clouds of white smoke.
any more suggestions?
p.s. as an added bonus, somehow my muffler got pushed up against the bottom of my bumper and when i had it started i burned the bottom of my bumper(good thing im geting a bodykit anyway)
how lucky can you get????

OK, so something must have happened that jarred something out of place. if your bumper is out of whack...maybe it also f*cked up your fuel pump?? do some lectrical diagnostics on that maybe if you replace it?

Well, I almost solved my problem. I took some advice and blew out the gas in the cylinders. I took out all of the plugs and blew them out at the same time. In the cylinder that was suspect, a 4 foot fountain of gas blew out. It was a great spectacle. I turned the engine a couple of more times and figured it was ready to go. I then hooked everything back up and PRESTO!! she started up. Although now I have a little misfire in that damn cylinder. The wires and the plugs are about a month old. Also, once I get going it stops misfiring. So, I guess you could say that it is an idling misfire. Any suggestions? I'm hoping that once I run the car for a while maybe some the excess gas will clear out or something.

It still sounds like you tore an internal injector O-ring replacing it which would cause more gas to flow into the cylinder, thus causing a misfire. The way the injectors are set up its very easy to accidently tear the o-ring replacing it. If you have eccessive gas on your spark plugs that means its flooding itself. Which can be cause by the internal o-ring because like the external o-ring which keeps gas in the internal one keeps gas out of the cylinder until it is directed to do so. Also from experience, your best bet is to NOT use aftermarket o-rings, they have never seemed to seat properly for me, the ac delco ones seem to seat real well. Just a suggestion.

My car is running fine now. I did go back and replace the o ring in the cylinder that was misfiring. It has stopped misfiring since then. Seriously though, the plug must have been so soaked with gas. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how much gas came out of the cylnder. Crazy. So, she is purring like a kitten now or should I say aging cat. It scares me everytime something like this happens because the car has so many miles on it (184,000). Yeah, it's a '97. What a bute. Sometimes I feel like it has ticked it last tock. Good luck to you St thomas.
