ok i currently own a 91 honda accord.blah blah blah, i gotta get rid of it cuz it keeps on breaking down and causing me agony and grief. ANYWAYS, i was looking into gettin a nissan 300zx but they are older than my car and so now i have turned my interest into a mid 90's Firebird of Trans AM...first of all, WHAT"S THE DIFFERENCE? (firebird vs. t/a?) second, do you think this would be a good decisoin to pick up one of these cars?
AND lastly, do u have any precautions, warnings or suggestions when i shop for one of these? How is the insurance for these? (would it be alot more than for my accord?)
Thanks guys/gals. Kyle

Firebirds (non formulas) are a V6. Trans ams and Firebird Formulas are a V8. I personally think the T/A looks more agressive than the formula but that's just my oppinion. Basically the difference in the 2 are the molded foglights on the Trans am and a trim kit.
I do think it would be a good decision to get one. I was car shopping for a long time and looked at many different cars before I bought my 97 Trans am.
Just look at the normal car stuff when you look at one, oil leaks, frame damage, etc. Be sure to check the pop-up lights to make sure they work well and don't grind when u put them down, check to be sure the AC works I know a few F-body owners whos AC doesn't work. Check the rear tire tread to 'cause people like to burn em up.
