If you're going down a hill and you shift into neutral and just let your car row down, is that bad for your car?

Nope... I do it all the time. Or when I pick up a lotta speed and I got a straight ahead of me, I just coast...

No, it's fine and probably saves some gas. Another thing that is nice, if you are going down a hill and have a ridiculously low speed limit like 30mph(like all the roads going to my house) you can just put it in 2nd or 3rd and not give it any gas, that way, you don't need to apply the brakes and ride them all the way down the hill.
