v6 swap

I have a 1987 firebird with a bad v6. How hard is it to replace the v6 with a 305 or 350?

Do I need to worry about elec. hookups and a new computer harness?

You will need a computer from a donor vehicle, unless you go with a non computer controled carb.

I am going to dig into to the motor today. If I can fix the v6 I'll be fine. The car is for a 15year old and I am in no hurry to give him a v8. All I know about the motor right now is that it has a real bad oil leak towards the back of the motor.

One thing to check if the oil leak is in the back of the motor is the o-ring for the distributer.

Well I am back and the oil leak turned out to be a hole in the oil pan. Right now (with fingers crossed) the car seems to be in pretty good shape. Hopefully it will be ready for the boy's b-day on the 16th. I need to fix the seats or most likey replace them and the car should be good to goooooo!
