hey, i have a 1982 riviera convertible, the gold edition one. I just had a few quesitons about it. Is there anywhere that i can get an AC compressor for cheap? how much is this thing worth? this is also the gold edition, only 1248 made... i think. is anyone here interested in it? it's the one with the 305 V8.

Hello,
I would say that your best bet would be to buy a new A/C compressor rather than trying to use something from a boneyard, and you will probably find one for a decent price at your local Auto Zone, CarQuest, Advanced Auto Parts, or if you don't have anything like that near you, then you could purchase one through: www.northernautoparts.com This is one of the best, and cheapest mail order places in the US. Great people too!
Do you have any pictures of the car, if so, I'd like to see them. I currently own 3 Buick Rivieras, all are 1979-85 body style. Great cars!
BTW - The motor in your car would be a 307 cu. in. (..which is actually an Oldsmobile motor) They seem to last forever, I have 195K on my 1984 Riviera and it burns no oil at all. I always have used Mobile 1 synthetic oil and Wix oil filters, I change oil every 3000 regardless of what the say about being able to go longer intervals using synthetic oils.
Hope this helps.
