Building a 700CC motorcycle engine powerd go-kart...

Well me and a few friends have decided to build an on-road go kart.....
we were going to use a 5 HP lawn mower engine (horizontal shaft) to power our one wheel drive/one person beast....but last night i got a call from one of them whos dad has a few old motorcycles....
I am not sure what type of engine, but I know its a 700CC motorcycle engine that just needs a carb rebuild to run, and its ours to use. Now since thats ALOT of power, we've decided to figure out how to make it 2 wheel drive, and possibly seat two (side by side). We are still working with a relativly small budget (around 200 bucks), i've got an arc welder but no place to plug it in....so we are having trouble deciding what to do about the frame. I havnt found any go-kart forums online, so i'm hoping that someone on this forum has some go kart building experience or even just some advice for us. Any links or pictures or advice would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone has AIM and is willing to help out by chatting on that, my screen name is:

absolutely insane. it was a drift kart, because it just wouldn't get traction, even at 120kmh.

I'd make it a thick ass tube frame, make it as heavy and sturdy as possible, it's not like weight's really going to hurt you, but half-assing the frame could get you hurt. I've been toying with this idea myself, I have a Yamaha 700cc at my disposal, you'll have to let me know how this goes.

I've never built a cart before but I helped my friend put a 600cc Street bike motor in his Yamaha Warrior four wheeler...did it ever go.

Have you thought about finding an old four wheeler or going to a dealer and looked into a Fourwheeler (racing bike preferably) rear axle and sprocket? that would make both rear wheels spin.

Well sorry to disapoint you all, but we have decided to scratch out the idea of 700CC for now....such a low budget wouldnt allow us to build anything near what we would need in order for it to be somewhat safe. We're toying with the idea of just building a small little go-kart with a chainsaw engine....yeah, wouldnt go that fast but we've all got cars that we'd rather put the money into.... (new suspension for scott, a new car for craig, and a new air filter, battery, spark plugs, and valve cover gaskets for me....lol)
