Replace factory radio with tape or cd deck

Hi,

I would like to replace the factory radio with a tape or cd deck. I was told that the buttons on the dash would no longer work if I switched them out. Do I have to go through Ford to get one that will work? If I buy used, do I have to by a tape deck from someone who had a 95 Taurus?

you have to buy a dash mounting kit for an aftermarket stereo which is pricy but all your buttons will work. I'd go to your local car audio shop and discuss it with them.
