check engine light

After just filling the gas tank at a different gas station than usual and driving through a rainstorm for 200 miles the check engine light came on and stayed on for 3 days. After that the light went off and stayed off. Can these events cause the light to come on temp? By the way the car is a 2001 grand am SE1 with the V6. Thanks

could be its hard to say, it the light went out then it should be ok. If it comes on agian take your car to autozone or advanced auto or some autoparts store like that, they should run a scan tool on your car for free.
