strong rear diff.?

hey:

i got a 92 S-10 frame that i am putting under a late model F**d. yeah yeah i know. but it is the best suspension. anyway i was wondering if there is a way to beef up the rear differential so it can handle about 400 hp bowtie motor? if any one can help me out a little i would appreciate it a lot.

The little 10-bolt should be fine for 400 hp but you're really going to need some traction bars. I used to have a site for S-10 traction bars but unfortunately lost it. Try checking on the internet somewhere.

With 400hp I'm guessing you're going with a 350 V8? Is it already in? If so how the hell do the headers fit in that body? For my 4.3l V6 it was such a bitch, and so incredibly crammed in there that a V8 must be a nightmare.

I am not using the S-10 body. i am puttig on a 1960 Ford F-100 body over the S-10 frame . there will be plenty of room in the Ford. But i am putting Air Ride Tech. Bags under it and i really need to use the S-10 rear end if possible. thats why i was wondering if there is a way to beef up the rear end.

one thing that might make the chevy 10 bolt rear end a bit stouter, would be to install a lock right locker. with a 400 hp power plant you will still be able to smoke both tires no problem. after that i would look into finding the toughest universal i could...
