Ok guys, I have a 1500 silverado ext cab, 5.7, 92 model 5 speed manual, when driving down the road when i get to 37 mph the brake light comes on and stays on until i shut off the truck. once i get down the road again 37mph the light comes on, sometimes it will blink ten times then stop, then blinks ten times and stops, it keeps doing it until the truck is shut down. then it starts all over again. The brakes are good i have no problem stopping. Its just that light ticks me off. What can be the problem. :banghead: :banghead:

I believe you are speaking about the inside brake light on the dash, right? If so sometimes the dash light blink out a code, so if it is blinking out a steady number over and over, it could be code for what the problem is. Time to hook it up to a computer at a shop or if you know someone with a hypertech/superchips programmer which also doubles as a diagnostic device, you can do that.

Do you have anti-lock? Couple things, Check fluid float may be sticking or fluid low, also if you have anti-lock could be the wheel-speed sensor circuit. Also There are two switches on your brake pedal, one for the brake light switch and one for the cruise control/EMC. Just given you some info.

yeah its the light on the dash, but when i took it down to get a inspection sticker, they put it on a machine but it didn't give them a code. because if it would have then they wouldn't have past the truck. I know they have to drive it to check the brakes. So who knows....

Check the spring on the e-brake pedal. I had this problem on my '86 and it was the spring. It had enough tension to pull the pedal up when the brake was released, but not enough to hold it up over bumps. When I would hit a bump the brake pedal dropped slightly activating the switch for the light. This problem got worse quickly until I got fed up with the light being on and replaced the spring.
