Mustang excitement????

lol, sorry guys, had to post this, the latest motor trend has a special feature on the mustangs big 4 oh, the concept mustang, and i quote....
"a mid mounted V4 engine, tube frame, and two seat layout has nothing in common with later mustangs, but creates excitement." only in the ford world would a mid engine V4 be exciting, kinda explains a few things about the history of the mustang though ;)

well now lets not be close-minded...there's absolutely nothing wrong with putting a motorcycle engine in a mustang...those blue oval boys are just trying to ride the success of that wonderfully thought out movie "torque" :banghead:

my friend dragged me to it cause he wanted to see the jet bike. it took everything during the movie to not drown myself in my soda, which is a horrible way to go, but it would have been heaven compared to the movie...

But anyway, I'm not sure what to make of that new design, don't know too much about it yet.

hmmm..... v4, sounds powerful. lol. now i'm interested. i would like to see it go, not even in a race, just go, period.

the concept bike uses a used huey H1 gas turbine for propulsion. being a gas turbine it aint a tire fryer (which makes the name torque even funnier) but top end is freaking scary, turbo hybusa, eat your heart out. id have to do some reasearch on it for exact specs, but i know jay leno has one :)

oh and no hate for the mustangs, beyond the fact that they are mustangs, i just thought that was really funny :)

tell me that you guys have seen the motorcycle that dodge made where they put the viper engine on a motorcycle platform. that's what im freakin talkin about, the movie would have been worth it if it had that bike. no one knows the top speed or the quarter cause no one has the balls to try it out, that's my kindof bike!!!

I guess city driving would be out of the question for this jet bike. Or a nice winding road. But that does give new meaning to the term "crotch rocket".

yeah, gas turbines tend to preferr constant speed, changes in speed take time, and are bad for gas mileage, thats why the resiprocating engine has dominated the automotive industry, because it handles changes in vehicle speed so well. the gas turbine bike is definately a novelty deal, but shit, id like to ride it :)

dude, i've seen that one! its crazy ur literally sitting on a v10, w/ 2ft wide tires just so that it can hold. the sh*ts crazy. where do they put the gas tank neway?

really? i thought it was just 2 really fat wheels. guess i didn't look at it close enough

yeah its four. mounted so that when you lean the bike, they kinda slide up and down, the inboard tire slides up, the outboard tire slides down, so that you maintain traction in a turn, pretty fly setup, but to me that says four wheeler.
