Alright check it out, your going to want to do the swap right the first time, which means the extra money up front, but saves money in the long run trust me. You may be able to get a motor for 1400 from www.hmotorsonline.com, but you might want to replace the clutch, water pump etc. while the motor is still out of the car. Your going to need mounts for the swap which will run anywhere from 150-300 bucks. You said your car is dx, so you will need a new wiring harness. Also make sure you smog your car before you swap, thats what i'm having trouble with. Good luck with the swap, let me know how it goes.
P.S. check out www.hasport.com for wiring and mounts

That sounds about right for the first generation B16A with Tranny and ECU. Expect though if you do not put it in yourself around 600-800 in labor attached to that and then 200-400 in mounts + axles + various replacement parts/maintenence... But for the price it sounds pretty good for just that.

You are a fucking idiot, going around telling people shit you have no clue about. Don't listen to this retard.
Go with a reputible online dealer, unless you can find one local that you can inspect the motor first.
www.hmotorsonline.com
www.passwordjdm.com
www.jhpusa.com
www.importautosalvage.com
those are the most reliable source for motors on line. And unlike what dipshit beast said, that isn't everything you need to make a B16A fit in a 4th gen Civic, you need a mount kit, www.hasport.com is the best, period. Also you will need either a custom adjustable shiftlinkage, or to fabricate your own. Wiring depending on the model Civic you have will vary.

i got a b16a1 with everything for $1600 but i did have to replace the water pump head gasket and a few other seals and gaskets but when you get done its worth it. P.S. shave the head before you put it in the car.
