Does anyone know of any where that can give me a good review on what i'll need to do to change the rear brake calipers on my 93 del sol ? Midas wants ~400$ per wheel to change them and there is No way im goin to pay that much.

I've changed plenty of Front calipers (and axles, wheel hubs, and other assorted front end parts), but this is the first time dealing with rear disk brakes.

Any info or URLs for me to read would be very helpful,

thanks

$400 per wheel!? Go to Honda and have ALL your brakes done for half that price. =\

heh, well i can get all four calipers from autozone, after core return for a couple hundred.

Problem is that Autozone doesnt have them at all! cant even get them online. :|

Is there any where else i can get a set of calipers from ?

Oh ya, i see listed on some stores that they have "Loaded " and "unloaded" brake caliper sets,

whats the difference between them?

Why make it difficult for yourself? If you're gonna spend $800 for two wheels at AutoZone, go to Honda and have them do it for half the price. AND you'll get the correct parts and genuine Honda quality.

just so you know, I just called the nearest Authorized Honda service center and they wanted 575$ for the rear calipers + pads, 50$ for resurfacing rotors.

I can do all four wheels for that price (rotors, calipers, pads) before core returns.

Geeze... I guess it's by location then. My local dealer charged me half that for my rears. :(

ya, im out in the middle of nowhere here in IL, If i had time i could take it to a shop in chicago area and probably get them done cheaper.

Called autozone and they can in fact, get the calipers in. Special order Items (i.e. not avialable online or at the store) can be purchased but you need to get them from the store.

O well, my grandpa always said that "you're not a man if you can't work on your own car." or something like that... :)
