My old d16 and current b16 engine burn(ed) about a quart between changes. It's normal.

try a different kind of oil. try a synthetic blend or an oil made for high RPM engines

Honda engines burn too much oil at high RPM's. If you use a heavier viscocity the engine will lose power and bog down, but at least you won't have to keep extra quarts of oil in you car.

Also check the oil pan gasket and tighten the bolts. It should'nt be covered in oil. High reving engines tend to shake bolts loose.

Mobil 1 syntec all the way baby.

When I used Redline it seemed like my car was grunting harder to go, and the stuff costs more than anything.

ok we just went over this is fuel systems class. If your engine burned one drop of oil every time your engine combusted the air fuel mixture, with a five qt oil system you would completely drain the oil pan in like 25 min. You always burn a little bit of oil every time a cylender fires. Its normal.
