I am experiencing a weird problem with my 97 Cavalier. The horn will only work when the steering wheel in completely straight. If the wheel is turn even just a little it wont work at all. Did anyone else ever encounter this? Does anyone have any ideas why this is? Thanks in advance for any help.

Someone told me that it may be the SIR Coil. IS that possible? I never heard of that?

Thanks for all your replies. Does anyone know if stores like R&S Strauss or Autobarn sell clocksprings? I ask because I am having a hard time finding one. I went to stores by my home and they had no idea what I was talking about. I asked for an SIR coil and he gave me an ignition coil :( Thanks agian.

i'm not 100% sure but i think this is a dealer item make sure you understand how to replace it before diving in. you need to disarm the airbag system(sir) and pull the wheel.

Thanks for you reply amac209. A friend of mine who is a retired mechanic is going to do it for me. I am going to make sure he knows how to do it before he trys. If he doesnt, I am going to have to try to find someone who knows how to do it. Do you know around how much a clockspring costs? Thanks again.
