Making Solid Mounts

Ok so i think i need to replace all of my mounts and i'm planning on filling some if not all of them with urethane. My question is which ones should i do? Should i do all of them or just the front and rear. Right now i was thinking of just doing the front rear and tranny mount but i figure maybe i should do all of them.
Whats the cons to doing all of them and does anyone have any insight into this. What do you guys think?
thanks .....:D

Justin just did this on his P10. He used Windoweld or something like that. If you use too high a durometer urethane you'll have some badass rattles and vibration.

Yeah, I just got mine in last week. I've been really busy lately, almost too busy... I did the front and rear mount (already had teh front done, but that doesn't matter for this) and they do transmit more vibration into the cabin. I would recommend new side mounts if they are dead, but I personally wouldn't fill them. I'd just fill the front and rear mounts with urethane (I used 3m Windo-weld fast urethane. i think the p/n was something like 08609?)
First impressions are I really like it. Time will show how much it really helps. That and I'm working on a second set of mounts right now. They should be installed in another G very shortly, for a second test vehicle, and a second person's opinion too.

the only problem i could see from filling them in or getting poly all the way around is the harmonic vibration. i dont know how you nissan guys are but rattling like that will kill a honda motor thats isnt blueprinted to the tightest specs. ive actually heard of polyurethane and solid mounts causing crankwalk in some engines from harmonic vibration's. remember energy is not only directed to the driveline, mounts absorb great amounts of evergy and the way its directed can prove the long run of a motor...if your bullitproof go for it if you sittin stock forget about it is my call. when i put urethane mounts in my old civic the massage factor was nice but the excess harmonics would have made a knock sensor go crazy.

Naw... the stuff I used was pretty close to the same durometer as the stock mount. It's about the same as Energy Suspension Inserts. What durometer material did you use? Also, how many mounts did you fill? If you filled all of them i could see the increased vibrations. I know stiffer side mounts on a G20 will transmit a LOT more vibration to the passengers. I havn't heard of anything with the knock sensor yet either... The JWT and Place racing mounts are stiff, but i havn't heard of anything bad happening from them yet, other than just increased vibrations.

I'v been runnin the JWT mounts for about 70k. No problems at all. You don't even notice them once your off idle. The ES mount's are a good bang for the buck IMHO.;)

The later model G20 mounts are so soft. I can't stand my motor flopping around anymore during auto-x. :( I think I'll give this Windo-weld trick a shot later this year.

Well, the second set of "prototype" mounts :hehe: are going in today. So, hopefully this afternoon we'll, or I'll have a better idea of how the goop works on both new, and used mounts.
OH yeah... I've been taking a LOT of pictures along the way :D

I've had my mounts windo welded for about 10K miles now in the G20. Works OK, but does not last forever. I did all 4 and the motor feels "right". Doesn't flip flop, and doesn't transmit any bad vibrations into the interior.
Had them in my GSX for 25K before that. Totally shot in 25K, but 400+HP will do that. :)

What is windo welded???
Anyways turns out after inspection that my tranny mount and side mount were bad, i decide not to fill these becuase without doing the front and rear there really is no point except more vibration. So for now its stock mounts until the front or rear go or i have extra money to spend on buying new ones :hehehe::hehehe::hehe::hehe:
